Appalachian Trail thru-hike

In 2001 "Samwise" backpacked the entire length of the Appalachian Trail.

In 2003 Samwise and Max thru-hiked the Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango.

 
West Africa and southern Africa

In 2004 Sam and Pippin both traveled to west Africa (Gambia, Senegal & Guinea). Samwise then continued on to Namibia and South Africa.

 

east Africa/Kilimanjaro and south-east Africa M&M, Samwise, and Pippin on the first day of the Kilimanjaro climb

In 2005 Samwise and Pippin both traveled to east Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Samwise then continued on to Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

In 2007, Sam and Max went back to finish the Long Trail of Vermont.
